and Dr. Marquis Jessie, and our staff at Maternal Fetal Associates are committed to delivering outstanding medical care with compassion and concern for each patient. Thousands of women have received outstanding care during their pregnancies from our premier team of Board Certified Perinatologists, who have forged a tradition of excellence with their compassionate manner for more than 15 years in Loudoun, Fairfax,
Prince William, and Montgomery Counties.
For expectant mothers, the prospect of having a baby is both joyous and exciting, and most pregnancies proceed smoothly. However, for a number of reasons, some women need to be watched more closely during pregnancy and will need the expertise of our Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Doctors because they are “at risk” and are considering becoming pregnant, or because they are pregnant and have a “high risk” or “complicated” pregnancy or other concern.
Our doctors work hand-in-hand with your Obstetrician to tailor a plan of care specific to your medical needs. This may include management of conditions complicating pregnancy, such as Diabetes, Multiple Gestation, Hypertension, and recurrent Pregnancy Loss, as well as Prenatal Diagnostic Procedures such as Fetal Echocardiography, specialized Fetal Ultrasound, Amniocentesis, and Genetic Screening and Testing (Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Evaluation), and Tests of Fetal Well Being.
Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists (also called Perinatologists), are physicians who possess the knowledge, training, equipment, and expertise to care for patients experiencing a pregnancy where a risk factor is involved. Being referred to a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist is not cause for alarm; In fact, you and your baby are now being cared for by an entire team of experts committed to the best outcome for both you and your baby.
