Biography: Moustafa M. Hassan, MD, FACOG
Doctor Hassan is an established leader in the field of Maternal
Fetal medicine in the Washington Metropolitan area and is the
President and Chief Executive Officer of Maternal Fetal Associates
of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC. Dr. Hassan prides himself on providing
friendly and personal care while being at the forefront of
breakthrough medical technologies.
Dr. Hassan’s valuable perinatal leadership experience is in demand
and currently he is focused on the establishment of state of the art
perinatal centers in the rapidly growing Loudoun and Prince William
Counties in Northern Virginia.
One of Dr. Hassan’s earliest achievements is the establishment of a high level perinatal center at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. His perinatal planning is still the framework of perinatal management at Holy Cross Hospital and other area Hospitals. Dr. Hassan prides himself on providing friendly and personal care while being at the forefront of breakthrough medical technologies.
Doctor Hassan’s areas of expertise are wide and diversified and
cover all aspects of perinatal medicine; however, he has special
interest in the area of ultrasound diagnosis of fetal malformations
and the management of recurrent pregnancy losses. Dr. Hassan is one
of the first physicians to start performing Nuchal Translucency and
first trimester screening in the Washington Metropolitan area. He
was awarded one of the first certificates for performing Nuchal
Translucency by the Fetal Medicine Foundation in London, England.
Additionally he is certified by the Nuchal Translucency Quality
Review Program (NTQR) of the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine in
USA.
Dr. Hassan serves as Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the George Washington University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a member of the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, The American Medical Association, The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
